Increasingly in demand for dollar mutual funds, MI increases cooperation with banks

The continued global economic recovery and high inflation rate have made US dollar-denominated mutual funds one of the instruments that investors should pay close attention to. In line with this, investment management companies (MI) will increase cooperation with banks to expand the offering of this type of product.

Star AM Chief Investment Officer Susanto Chandra said that the prospects for dollar-denominated mutual funds are still quite positive for this year. This is in line with the prospect of continued global economic recovery in 2022. "US dollar mutual funds are still good this year, so they are still quite interesting to collect," he explained.

According to him, the prospects for US dollar-based stock mutual funds will be better compared to fixed income mutual funds. This is because the high rate of inflation globally puts greater pressure on the bond market. In line with this sentiment, Susanto recommends investors to continue to pay close attention to global market conditions before entering into this instrument. According to him, a gradual purchasing strategy can be carried out on US dollar-based stock mutual funds to get optimal returns.

Meanwhile, Star AM is currently collaborating with banks to sell its dollar mutual fund products. This will also increase the diversification of product alternatives for banking customers. Susanto said that this collaboration is expected to be realized in mid-2022. "So, customers can also take advantage of the current volatility of the US dollar stock asset class," he said.
