An Investment Manager is a Party whose business activities involve managing Securities Portfolios for clients or managing collective investment portfolios for a group of clients, except for insurance companies, Sharia insurance, pension funds, and banks that carry out their own business activities based on laws and regulations.
A Mutual Fund Distributor is a Party that sells Mutual Fund Securities based on a cooperation agreement with the Investment Manager, the manager of the Mutual Fund.
Reksa Dana is a container used to collect funds from the investing public, which are then invested in a portfolio of securities by an Investment Manager.
A prospectus is any written information related to a Public Offering with the aim of persuading other parties to purchase Securities.
A Custodian Bank is a Commercial Bank that has obtained approval from the OJK (Indonesia's Financial Services Authority) to conduct custodial activities, which include providing custody services for Securities (including Collective Custody of Securities owned jointly by or more than one Party represented by the Custodian), as well as other assets related to Securities, and other services, including receiving dividends, interest, and other rights, settling Securities transactions, and representing account holders who are its customers.
A Mutual Fund in the form of a Collective Investment Contract pools funds by issuing Participation Units to Unit Holders.
Participation Units are the measurement units indicating the proportional interest of each Unit Holder in the collective investment portfolio. Therefore, Participation Units serve as evidence of a Unit Holder's participation in a Mutual Fund in the form of a Collective Investment Contract.
The Custodian Bank will issue a Confirmation Letter of Unit Participation Transactions which contains the amount of Participation Units held by each Unit Holder and serves as evidence of ownership of Mutual Fund Participation Units.
By investing in Mutual Funds, customers will gain benefits, including:
- Professional Management
Managing investment portfolios in the form of equity and/or debt securities, including instrument selection, selection of relevant parties, and investment administration, requires systematic analysis, continuous monitoring, and sound investment decisions. In addition, specialized expertise and relationships with various parties are necessary to effectively manage an investment portfolio. Through Mutual Funds (Reksa Dana), customers will benefit from the convenience of being relieved from the aforementioned tasks and entrusting them to Investment Managers who are professionals in their field. - Economies of Scale
With the accumulation of funds from various parties, Mutual Funds (Reksa Dana) have bargaining power to achieve higher investment returns, lower investment costs, and access to investment instruments that may be difficult to obtain individually. This provides equal opportunities for all investors to achieve relatively good investment results according to their level of risk. - Investment Value Growth
By investing funds in Mutual Funds (Reksa Dana), customers have the opportunity to achieve competitive investment results.
According to the Income Tax Law (UU PPh), the investment returns of a Mutual Fund or the share of profits received by the Unit Holders of a Collective Investment Contract are not considered as taxable income.
- The risk of a decrease in the Net Asset Value (NAV) per Participation Unit.
The value of Mutual Fund Participation Units may fluctuate due to the increase or decrease in Net Asset Value (NAV). This decrease in NAV can be caused by changes in the prices of securities in the portfolio, fees incurred with each investor's purchase and redemption, as well as in the event of default by relevant parties. - Default Risk (Credit)
The Investment Manager will strive to provide the best investment results to the Unit Holders. However, in exceptional circumstances (force majeure), the issuer of the securities in which the Mutual Fund invests may default in fulfilling its obligations. - Regulatory Change Risk
Changes in existing regulations, tax policies, and government policies, especially in the field of macroeconomics related to equity and/or debt securities, can impact the rate of return and investment results that the Mutual Fund will receive. This can result in a reduction of the potential investment returns that Unit Holders may receive.
In the course of the customer's investment journey, the Investment Manager functions as the party responsible for managing the funds and the securities portfolio.
